House of Pain: Grandslam 2 October 2024

On Tuesday 1 October, The Africa Wrestling Alliance (AWA) will once again be hosting the best pro wrestling in South Africa, the popular House of Pain at the Parow Civic Centre: Grandslam!

All major titles in AWA will be defended on the night: The Lightweight, Cruiserweight and All-Africa Heavyweight championships!

The Lighweight Championship match will see Werner "The Wolf" Pretorious take on Revyv. Revyv won the vacated title at our previous show, but Werner cashed in his golden ticket and went on to beat Revyv by submission to win the championship. This match will be Werner's first title defence, and Revyv's chance to right the wrong that was done to him.

The Cruiserweight championship will be contested between champion Mr Money and former champion, Mad Jack Maverick. Mr Money defeated Mad Jack and Romeo Valentino for the championship earlier this year, and this will be his first official title defense. Mad Jack is a former seven-time Cruiserweight champion and is looking to take back what he lost.

The All-Africa Championship match will see the current champion, Mike Xander, take on FIVE other men in an elimination match. The other competitors are The Oz, Congo King, Freakshow, Ed Electric and Jan die Skaapboer. This match is likely to be the most chaotic and unpredictable, with no clear indication of who is going to win. The only thing certain is the odds are certainly not in the champion's favour.

The show will also feature two additional matches: a handicap and tag team match.

The team of "The Takeover", made up of rookies Chad LeBron and Alex Prince have quickly gained a bad reputation in the AWA for their underhanded tactics and mean spirits. They have issued an open challenge to everyone on the roster, which was answered by none other than fan favourite Johnny Palazzio. Johnny will be looking to teach these two youngsters a lesson in manners, but can the team cause an upset and get a valued victory over the AWA veteran?

And lastly the team of Romeo Valentino and his protege, JSK, will be taking on the team of "C4" Jay Cooper and Wilfred McFish (Zimbabwe). Romeo and JSK are looking to solidify their reputation as the baddest team on the roster. Can Jay and Wilfred work together and put a stop to this duo?

Tickets are R100 for unreserved and R150 for reserved seating. Reserved tickets can be booked from 17 September by whatsapping 082 456 0792. Tickets will also be available at the door (cash only).
