House of Pain: Battle for Glory 2 July 20204

On Tuesday 2 July, The Africa Wrestling Alliance (AWA) will once again be hosting the popular House of Pain at the Parow Civic Centre: Battle for Glory!

The evening will play host to 7 matches, including some grudge matches, a championship match, a massive tag team match, and the Golden Ticket Battle Royale!

With the AWA Lightweight Championship being vacated by Good Time Kid, AWA management has chosen three of the top highflyers in AWA: Revyv, Little Hillbilly and Werner Pretorious to compete in a Triple Threat match for the championship. These three had an epic match in December last year, and this will likely be one of the most exciting matches of the night.

Mad Jack Maverick and Romeo Valentino have been at each other’s necks for months, and they will now compete one on one to settle their rivalry and determine who is the better wrestler of the two men.

Another grudge contest will see AWA All Africa Heavyweight Champion, Mike Xander take on The Oz in a non-title match. After being pinned by Oz at our last event, the champion needs to prove it was a once off by taking on Oz in a singles match.

After experiencing two controversial defeats at the last House of Pain show, Johnny Palazzio and Ed Electric have the chance at redemption when they take on members of the House of Montgomery, Congo King and Freakshow in a huge tag team bout. This match will be full of emotion from both sides, will Cape Town’s heroes be able to get their revenge? Or will the House of Montgomery have more tricks up their sleeves?

The main event will feature the ultimate Battle for Glory in AWA: The Golden Ticket Battle Royale. Over 20 wrestlers will compete for the opportunity to win the Golden Ticket, which guarantees the victor any match against any opponent of their choosing. Will year’s winner, Werner 'The Wolf' Pretorious, take the glory for a second time?
